Michelle’s Pet Salon began as a small neighborhood grooming shop founded by Nena and Tommy Ellison. Today, it has grown into a full-service pet care destination rooted in family, hard work, and a genuine love for animals.

Now owned and operated by their daughter, Robin Wilkins, Michelle’s Pet Salon remains a family-owned and woman-owned business carrying on the legacy from the same long-standing location. Under Robin’s leadership, the salon has expanded into a new facility with professional grooming services, a grooming school, and a separate boarding facility — all while staying true to the affordable service, experienced care, and personal touch clients have trusted for generations.

From “the little shop that could” to a lasting local legacy, Michelle’s Pet Salon remains committed to caring for pets with the same heart that started it all.

Robin Wilkins

Robin Wilkins is the owner of Michelle’s Pet Salon and Blue Oaks Pet Ranch, bringing more than 35 years of professional grooming experience, advanced education, and respected industry leadership to her businesses.

What began as a small neighborhood shop founded by her parents has grown under Robin’s leadership into a trusted, high-volume pet care destination known for professional grooming, education, retail, and expanded care services. Her background includes hands-on grooming experience, continuing education, competitive grooming, advanced professional certification, and formal breed-standard training.

Robin has built her reputation on high standards and has trained her team to follow the same approach. Every groomer is taught to prioritize safe handling, sanitation, proper technique, breed knowledge, patience, and compassionate care. Her goal is to give everyday pet owners access to expert-level grooming in a professional, trusted environment.

As founder of Groomology Institute of Texas and a founding board member of the Texas Professional Pet Groomers Association, Robin continues to help raise grooming standards across the industry, not just within her own salon.
